Aalmi Meeras -1 Release function (Part-2)

JAMMU, Dec 19: Brij Premi Memorial Literary Committee, Jammu organized an impressive function here, today at K L Sehgal Hall, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages Jammu which was presided over by famous Urdu poet Pretpal Singh Betab. Former Chief Secretary, Vijay Bakaya was the chief guest on the occasion and Dr Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy was the guest of honour. The function was held in connection with the release of maiden issue of the quarterly Urdu Magazine “Allmi Meeraas” dedicated to the memory and contribution of the note Urdu writer, Dr Brij Premi. On this occasion a musical concert was presented by Dharmesh Nargotra, based on the ghazals of Dr Premi Romani which left the audience spell bound, while Prof. Mohd. Assad Ullah Wani presented a detailed analytical paper on life and works of Dr. Premi Romani as well as contents of Allmi Meeraas. The function was attended by a large number of writers, intellectuals, music and literature lovers and people from all walks of life. The programme was conducted by Dr Shah Nawaz. In his speech, Vijay Bakaya remarked that a journal presents the creative wealth of different writers of a language and the publication of quarterly Urdu Magazine Allmi Meeras will go a long way in serving the cause of development of Urdu language and literature, which the editor Dr Premi Romani is brining out with great dedication and hard work. Pretpal Singh Betab a well known poet wished the journal great success to carry forward the mission of development of Urdu language and literature. He appealed to the authorities of the J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages to publish a special number of Sheeraza dedicated to the contribution of Dr Brij Premi. Arvind Singh Aman, Additional Secretary Academy remarked that the release of Urdu books takes place frequently but the release of a journal is of special significance because it brings the contribution of many writers of a language before the lovers of literature. K K Bhat mentioned his association with Dr Brij Premi, which inspired him a sense of creativity to go ahead in any field of life. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Premi Romani while Sh. Avinash Aima presented vote of thanks.
